Mother of Seve Demir visits the condolence tent for Poyraz

Sakine Demir, mother of Seve Demir who was murdered in Silopi in 2016, visited the condolences tent put up for Deniz Poyraz.

A condolences tent for Deniz Poyraz was put up in front of the HDP office in the neighbourhood of Çimentepe Doğa in Konak, in Izmir.

Poyraz was killed as a result of the armed assault against the HDP office in Izmir. The parents of Deniz, Fehime and Abdülillah Poyraz, were accompanied by Serpil Kemalbay and Murat Çepni, the HDP Izmir MPs as well as many party members.

Figen Nazife Karahan, Tuğba Dönmez and Kimet Batmaz, members of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Republican People’s Party Commission of Women and Family visited the tent and expressed their condolences to Deniz Poyraz’s family.

Also, Sakine and Abdülaziz Demir, parents of Seve Demir, member of the Party Assembly of Democratic Regions Party (DBP), who was murdered together with Fatma Uyar, member of Congress of Free Women (Kongreya Jinên Azad-KJA) and Pakize Nayır, co-chair of Silopi Community Council in Silopi on 4 January 2016, visited the tent.

Sakine Demir said that Kurdish people continue to pay a high cost and added: “Seve, Hevrin Xelef, Deniz, Pakize, Fatma and thousands of women have been killed and thousands of others have joined the struggle following their footstep.”

Sakine Demir said that unity among Kurdish people should be strengthened to achieve freedom and added: “Kurdish people have resisted for thousands of years and will continue to resist. I believe that our people will achieve victory. The martyrs are immortal.”
