Military operation against the city of Mosul in Iraq, which has been under ISIS occupation since August 2014, is reported to have started. Iraqi TV channels stated that Mosul operation began at the Gökceli region on the Mosul-Hewler border.

Artillery units affiliated with the US army are reported to have started shelling ISIS targets in the eastern part of Mosul.
