More people from Turkey seek asylum in Germany

According to the response to a written question by MP Sevim Dağdelen, 2,089 people from Turkey were registered as asylum seekers in Germany between November 2019 and January 2020.

The left-wing member of the German Parliament, Sevim Dağdelen regularly asks for the numbers of people from Turkey seeking protection in Germany. According to latest figures covered in the response to a latest written question she submitted, there has been an increase from November 2019 to January 2020.

In November 2019, the asylum application statistics recorded 682 asylum seekers with Turkish citizenship, 591 in December and 816 in January.

The number of people who have to flee from Turkey and North Kurdistan is obviously increasing due to the repressions of the Erdoğan regime and the reasons for flight are so serious that the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), notorious for its restrictive decisions, is forced to grant protection status in more than every second case.
