More people arrested in ongoing police operations

More people have been detained and remanded in custody in countrywide police operations as AP government continues its political genocide operations against Kurds and democratic circles across Turkey and North Kurdistan.

More people have been detained and remanded in custody in countrywide police operations as AKP government continues its political genocide operations against Kurds and democratic circles across Turkey and North Kurdistan.

Police forces leading the operations are resorting to violence during the raids, while also threatening the people in the addresses targeted.

ADANA

police conducted concurrent house raids with the support of helicopters in a number of neighborhoods in Adana province. Many people have been reported detained in the operation during which police broke the doors of the houses which they messed up making an extremely detailed search in all. The detainees have been taken to the anti-terror branch of Adana police directorate.

ANTALYA

Out of 13 people who had been detained in house raids in Antalya the day before, three have been remanded in custody and sent to prison on charges of "membership to a terrorist organization", including a member of the SDP (Socialist Democracy Party).

İZMİR

Out of eight people who had been detained in police operations Menemen district of İzmir two days ago, five have been remanded in custody on charges of "membership to a terrorist organization", and sent to Kırıklar Prison.

In Narlıdere district, 16 had been detained in police operations the day before for allegedly "being members of a terrorist organization" and "burning a bus". Eight among them were released after giving their statements at prosecutor's office, while the other eight were referred to a court, after which five were released pending a trial and three others were remanded in custody and sent to prison.

MARDİN

Police teams raided many houses in Yaylayanı and Üçerli neighborhoods of Mardin's Savur district. DBP Savur co-chair Şehmus Aksoy was detained in the operation in Yaylayanı neighborhood which was conducted by special operation teams and soldiers accompanied by armored vehicles. DBP Savur district executive Arif Gültekin's house was also targeted in the operation in Üçerli neighborhood. DBP executive's sister Gülistan Gültekin was detained following a detailed search in the house. The detainees have been taken to Mardin police directorate.

Police also conducted raids in Berçem neighborhood of Kızıltepe district where a person was detained and taken to district police office for interrogation.

HAKKARİ

In Yüksekova district of Hakkari, police conducted a dawn operation following the rocket attacks that targeted police and courthouse lodges late yesterday evening. Two persons were detained in the operation conducted by special operation teams. Some people taken into custody in the operation were later released after a "detention by mistake".

While the neighborhood of Güngör remains under police blockade, police continue searches in houses. While the number of detainees is yet to be verified, an activity of armored vehicles has been taking place across the district since early morning.

MUŞ

Three people have been taken into custody in today's operations in Malazgirt district of Muş. While 16 people have been detained in the district so far, seven among them were released following procedures at police headquarters.

In Muş province, seven people detained in police operations so far have been released pending trial on the grounds of "membership to a terrorist organization".

In Bulanık district, one youth was detained as a result of house raids early this morning, and taken to Muş police headquarters.

ERZURUM

Police raided a number of houses in Yeni neighborhood in Karayazı district of Erzurum early in the morning and detained two brothers who were taken to district police department.

HATAY

Out of eight people who were detained in July 24's operations in Hatay province, three were released at court while the other five were remanded in custody on charges of "membership to a terrorist organization".

URFA

Out of nine people detained in Birecik district of Urfa, four were released after procedures at police headquarters. Four others referred to court were released on conditions of trial without arrest and one was remanded in custody and sent to prison.

In Ceylanpınar district, 5 out of 21 detainees were referred to court. Three among them were released and one other was remanded in custody, while the other one, a minor, will be forwarded to a court today.

On the other hand, the owner of the flat, where two police officers were found dead last week, has also been arrested and sent to Urfa E Type Closed Prison.

ADIYAMAN

Out of 15 people who were referred to a court yesterday, 10 were released after giving their statements, whilethe other five were remanded in custody and sent to Adıyaman E Type Closed Prison, including an executive of HDP Kâhta district organization.

ANTEP

Among the 21 people detained in Antep, four were released following procesures at police headquarters and prosecutor’s office.
