More arrested in political genocide operations

Three people have been jailed in Mersin while 7 have been taken into custody in Ankara.

The AKP regime continues its political genocide operations in which more people are getting arrested every day.

MERSİN

Three people, who had been detained for alleged connection with the explosion that hit a police shuttle in central Mersin on October 17, have been jailed.

Mehmet Türmak and Zümerat Türmak, who had been detained in Amed and brought to Mersin afterwards, and Gülcan Kandemir, who had been detained in Mersin, were referred to court after procedures at the police department. The three people have been jailed for alleged “membership to a terrorist organization”.

ANKARA

As the hunger strike of dismissed educators Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça continues on its 258th day, the “We want our job back” demonstration they had launched before their imprisonment on Ankara’s central Yüksel Avenue is in its 378th day. Demonstrators gathered at the scene once again today to make a statement to the press to highlight the demand of dismissed educators. The demonstrators were surrounded by the police as they unfurled a banner calling for the reinstatement of Nuriye and Semih. Police forces then tore down the banner and detained 7 demonstrators who were also battered during the crackdown.
