Germany's Maxist Leninist Party (MLPD) issued a written statement on the martyrdom of PKK commander Abdulrahman Hamo (Dozdar Hamo).
The PKK Solidarity Committee with Martyrs’ Families recently announced in a written statement that PKK commander and leading cadre Abdulrahman Hamo (Dozdar Hamo), had fallen martyr during the air raid carried out by the invading Turkish state on Medya Defense Areas in November 2019.
Germany's Maxist Leninist Party (MLPD) issued a written statement after hearing of Hamo's martyrdom. In the statement published under the heading "In memory of the Kurdish revolutionary and great internationalist Dozdar Hamo", the MLPD drew attention to the life and struggle of PKK commander Hamo and added: "We were deeply saddened by the martyrdom of our comrade and friend in struggle."
Reminding that the International Coordination of Revolutionary Parties and Organizations (ICOR) delegation, including MLPD representatives, met with Dozdar Hamo many times, the statement said: “We have met with him many times since 2014 and worked together. Hamo attached great importance to international solidarity among revolutionaries and was therefore in close contact with us."
In the written statement, Gabi Fechtner, one of the executives of the MLPD, reminded that Hamo argued that the Kurdish freedom struggle can be achieved with the solidarity and support of internationalist revolutionaries. Fechtner added: “He was constantly talking about democratic self-government in our discussions. He stated that these administrations were actually part of a socialist revolution. The martyrdom of Dozdar Hamo is a great loss not only for the Kurdish freedom movement, but also for the freedom struggle waged by internationalist revolutionaries. We will pay tribute to his memory and show our commitment to his struggle by ending exploitation. We express our condolences to all revolutionaries, especially his family, comrades and the Kurdish people."
