MLKP prisoners to go on hunger strike against isolation

Prisoners in the MLKP case announced that they are going on a hunger strike on March 1 demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Prisoners in the MLKP case on remand in all prisons announced that they will be going on a 15 day hunger strike on March 1.

In a statement released in their name, the MLKP prisoners said: “We salute the honorable struggle by Leyla Guven once again. The flame Leyla Guven sparked with her hunger strike has become a torch, passed down from hand to hand. Her demands have been embraced by large parts of society despite the state’s efforts to prevent and silence her. Initiatives have been set up in solidarity with Leyla Guven.”

MLKP prisoners also said, “We as the prisoners in the MLKP case embrace Leyla Guven’s righteous and legitimate demand that the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan be ended”
The statement concluded with: “To show our solidarity with Leyla Guven, we as MLKP prisoners in all prisons announce that we will be going on a 15 day hunger strike between March 1 and 15. Leyla Guven is right, the isolation must end!”
