17-year-old inmate Ferhat Kaya had gotten heavily injured during the fire that erupted in Adana E Type Closed Prison's Juvenile Department on January 18.

Kaya was held under treatment at Çukurova Dr. AşkımTüfekçi State Hospital since and he succumbed to his wounds today.

Kaya's body was taken to Adana Forensic Medicine Institute for a post-mortem examination and he will reportedly be laid to rest tomorrow.

In the meantime, jailed minor Mehmet Altunhan and two wardens who had also suffered critical injuries in the fire, continue to receive treatment.

The fire in Adana E Type Closed Prison's Juvenile Department had claimed the life of another minor.
