Many detained in three cities

The Turkish regime’s political genocide operations continue unabated.

A number of people were detained within the scope of political genocide operations in Amed, Istanbul and Ankara on Friday.

ISTANBUL

During house raids in Alibeyköy and Esenler districts of İstanbul, Ali Coşkun and Kadri Ertuğrul were detained. It was reported that the detainees were taken to Istanbul Police Headquarters located on Vatan Street.

ANKARA

Detention period was extended for 13 people who had been taken into custody during the press briefing held by Labour and Democracy Forces to commemorate May martyrs and İbrahim Kaypakkaya, one of the leader of Turkey’s Revolutionary movement. Houses of the detained people were raided and searched earlier in the morning.

AMED

Ramazan Kavak, former co-chair of Trade Union of Public Employees in Health and Social Services (SES) Amed Branch and his son Velat Kavak, were detained during a house raid on May 19th. Kavak and his son have been taken to Diyarbakır Police Headquarters.
