Police forces attacked the people joining the Newroz celebration in Başakşehir district of Istanbul.

The event to mark Kurdish New Year, organized by HDP Başakşehir district branch, began in Güvercintepe neighborhood earlier today.

Police teams deployed in the area attacked the crowd as people started to chant the slogan “PKK is the people and the people are here”. Many of those in the area have been detained and taken to police headquarters.
