Gültekin Öztürk (58) was hit and seriously injured by a traffic police motorcycle while crossing the street on Diclekent Boulevard in Amed's Peyas (Kayapınar) district on 6 May. He died after suffering a brain hemorrhage due to the impact.

Öztürk was kept in the intensive care unit of Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital for two days, but could not be saved. He will be buried in Yeniköy Cemetery.
