Long March in France continues on its second day

Kurdish activists and people in solidarity are staging long marches in several countries to demand freedom for Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Kurdish youth movements Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger and Jinên Ciwanên Têkoşer have launched a long march in France on Sunday to demand freedom for Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan at the anniversary of the February 15 international conspiracy that resulted in his forced deportation to Turkey in 1999. The march, which kicked off from the city of Sierentz, will be concluded in Strasbourg on February 11.

A number of people from revolutionary youth movements are partaking in the march, as well as activists from Germany, Belgium, France, Switzerland and all around Europe.

The participants met in the Mulhouse city center in the morning and they were joined by anti-fascist activists.

The activists were subjected to an attack with stones and obstruction by the French police. After half an hour of interruption, they resumed their march chanting slogans demanding freedom for the Kurdish leader.
