Long March for Öcalan in Germany on day 4

The march will be concluded with a rally in Mannheim this evening.

The Long March which started in Frankfurt on 8 February to protest the February 15 international conspiracy against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan on its 21st anniversary, continues on its fourth day.

The fourth stage of the march has kicked off from Bensheim this morning under the slogan "Be Serok Jiyan Nabe" [There can be no life without the Leader].

The activists will cover 20 kilometers today before reaching Mannheim.

Already on the first day slogans and Kurdish symbols were banned by the German police. On the second day, a police attack on the activists took place at the end of the march, three young people from France were arrested and only released during the night. On the third day, the young activists were again confronted with police provocation as they met in the morning, at the Luisenplatz in Darmstadt to continue their action. A German participant was arrested and the escort vehicles with the technical equipment were searched in detail. The German activists was released later on in the afternoon.

Despite the continuous obstructions and provocations of the police, the activists continue their march chanting "Biji Rêber Apo" [Long Live Leader Öcalan]. They intend to end their march successfully without giving into provocations.

The long march, participated by around 120 activists from Germany, Sweden and France, will be concluded in the Mannheim city of German today. The activists will watch the Kurdish movie 'Banga Roj' at the Kurdish Democratic Community Centre in Mannheim in the evening.
