Lilwa Abdullah: SDF forces have liberated an area of 3.000 km2

Operation Cizire Storm Spokesperson said their forces have liberated an area of 3.100 square kilometers from ISIS in the second phase of the campaign and their partnership with Iraqi forces regarding the security of the Iraqi-Syrian border continues.

Operation Spokesperson Lilwa Abdullah spoke to the ANHA about the most recent developments in the Operation Cizire Storm and said their goal in the operation now is to liberate the districts of Al Shiafa, Hajin, Abu Al Xatir, Abu Al Hassan and Al Susa.

Lilwa Abdullah said the operation continues and that their goal is to liberate the areas to the east of Deir ez-Zor and to end ISIS gangs in the region.

“OUR FORCES LIBERATED AN AREA OF OVER 3.000 KM2”

Lilwa Abdullah said the Operation Cizire Storm fighters have freed an area of over 3.000 square kilometers from ISIS gangs and continued: “For the liberation of these areas, the fighters moved in from the 3 fronts of the operation, namely Mergeda, Shaddadi and Hawl. 50 villages and hamlets were liberated in these areas. Large amounts of weapons and ammunition have also been confiscated from the gangs.”

“HUNDREDS OF CIVILIANS RESCUED”

Lilwa Abdullah stated that hundreds of civilians have been rescued from the liberated villages and hamlets in the second phase of the operation: “The rescue of civilians happened through the opening of safety corridors. ISIS gangs were using civilians as human shields to stop the advance of our forces. Our forces will fight ISIS gangs and all who endanger the security of the region and of civilians. Our forces will fight all enemies and will not let any force to endanger the security of the liberated areas.”

“OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE IRAQI ARMY CONTINUES”

Lilwa Abdullah said the following on the partnership with the Iraqi army: “Our partnership with the Iraqi army continues. We have formed joint operation chambers along the border. The purpose of these is to ensure border safety against gangs. And the coalition forces offer air support for border safety.”

Lilwa Abdullah said the following on the coming goals of the operation: “After the liberation of the areas in Dishisha was completed, our forces will turn towards the ISIS invaded districts of Al Shafa, Hajin, Abu Al Xatir, Abu Al Hassan and Al Susa.”

“OUR PEOPLE CAN REST EASY”

Operation Cizire Storm Spokesperson Lilwa Abdullah said they won’t abandon even the smallest handful of the lands they liberated, and concluded with: “Our people can rest easy. We will never let anyone take the lands rescued with the blood of our martyrs and the labor of our fighters. We state once more that there can be no political solution in Syria without dialogue under the guarantee of international powers.”
