INTERNATIONAL OBSERVERS

Guven, who held a hunger strike for 200 days protesting the isolation, didn’t attend the hearing in person while her lawyers Reyhan Yalcindag, Cemile Turhalli Balsak and Cemil Sivan Ozen were present. Die Linke MP Hakan Tas and diplomats from the Netherlands Embassy also observed the hearing.

DEMANDS REJECTED

Lawyer Reyhan Yalcindag submitted another appeal that the hearing should be stopped as per Article 83 of the Constitution as Leyla Guven is a MP.

Yalcindag also demanded that the foreign travel ban issued as part of Guven’s parole be lifted.

The court rejected both appeals and postponed the hearing.
