Leyla Guven released from prison, will continue hunger strike

DTK Co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Guven has been released from prison. Guven will continue her hunger strike on the outside.

DTK Co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Guven, who has been on a hunger strike for 79 days demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan, was released from prison alongside chants and cheers.

The people chant, “Leyla Guven is our honor” and “Biji Berxwedana Leyla Guven”.

HDP Co-chair Pervin Buldan said the court’s decision to release Guven is positive and added that they will be taking Guven home where she will continue her hunger strike.

Guven was taken to her home in the Baglar district’s Bagcilar neighborhood.
