Lavrio in solidarity with hunger strikes in Turkey’s prisons

The Kurdish refugees in the Lavrio camp stated that their action will continue every Tuesday and Saturday until the hunger strike in prisons achieves its goal and comes to an end.

An action was organised in the Lavrio camp in Greece where Kurdish refugees expressed their solidarity with the hunger strikes launched in Turkey’s prisons on November 27 demanding an end to the isolation of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan and rights violations in prisons.

During the action which was organised by the Kurdish Revolutionary Youth Movement (TCŞ), refugees in Lavrio camp staged a noise protest against the isolation of Öcalan.

Young residents of the camp displayed banners of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) and KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) and lit torches as they chanted “Biji Serok Apo” (Long Live Leader Öcalan).

The Kurdish refugees in the camp stated that their action will continue every Tuesday and Saturday until the hunger strike in prisons achieves its goal and comes to an end.
