Kurds salute the Rojava Revolution in Russia

Kurds living in Adygea, Russia marked the 5th anniversary of the Rojava Revolution.

Kurdish people living in the Autonomous Republic Adygea of the Russian Federation held a meeting to mark the 5th anniversary of the Rojava revolution. The meeting took place at the courtyard of Adygea Kurdish Cultural Autonomy Centre and started with a minute of silence for the martyrs of revolution.

Vice-chair of Adygea Kurdish Cultural Autonomy Centre, Xwedêda Ahmed, held a speech on the meaning and importance of the special day.

Ahmed stressed that the Kurdish people pioneer the world's most meaningful revolution and said, "When on July 19th of 2012 the Kurdish people started to organize themselves to take their fate into their own hands, everybody was laughing about them and didn't believe them to succeed at all. And yet, the Rojava Revolution became a beacon of hope not only for the Kurdish people but for all the peoples of the region. This revolution which keeps liberating the region step by step may be called the greatest revolution of the world."

On that occasion, Ahmed referred to the historical resistance of July 14 and isolation on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, and said:

"July 14 1982 is the day on which Kurds in the Amed prison made history with their first epic resistance. Following their example, we see the successors of their resistance not only in Rojava but in all four parts of Kurdistan defining the future of Kurdistan with their resistance. The fascist dictatorship of Erdoğan-Bahçeli hopes to immobilize the Kurdish people with the aggravated isolation on the Kurdish people's leader. We have to strengthen our struggle for the physical freedom of our leader and the absolute freedom of Kurdistan."

After his speech the attendants spoke and saluted the Rojava Revolution, and condemned the aggravated isolation on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
