Kurds in Lavrio protest against Turkish attacks on guerrilla zones

In Lavrio, Greece, Kurds organized a mass march against Turkey’s occupation attacks on guerrilla areas in southern Kurdistan, northern Iraq.

Kurds in Lavrio, Greece, staged a march in protest at the Turkish state's attacks on Medya Defense Zones in cooperation with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).

The march organised by the Kurdistan Cultural Center started in the Lavrio camp. Hundreds of people carried banners denouncing the Turkish state and the KDP, as well as posters of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and PKK-KCK-HPG flags. Political prisoners who have been carrying out hunger strikes in Turkey’s prisoners for 151 days were also saluted during the action.

'TURKISH STATE WILL BE DEFEATED'

Speaking on behalf of the Kurdistan Cultural Center, Ahmet Kaya said that, "We salute the resistance on Imrali and in the prisons. The PKK has been defeating NATO's third largest army for 40 years. The Turkish state has been trying to avenge Garê, but it will be defeated again. The reason to pick up April 24 is that it marks the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.”

Kaya emphasized that the Kurds should take the Imrali resistance as an example.
