Activists in Helsinki protest chemical attacks carried out by Turkey in Kurdistan

Kurds and their friends in Helsinki took action against the chemical attacks carried out by the Turkish state.

Kurds and their friends living in Helsinki took to the streets to protest the Turkish state's use of banned chemical weapons against the guerrillas.

The people held their action in the city centre in the evening wearing protective clothing against chemical weapons. Activists read a statement and distributed leaflets after a minute of silence in memory of the freedom fighters who were killed.

Carrying a banner asking the OPCW to break their silence, the activists demanded that the international organisation immediately initiate an investigation against Turkey to verify the use of chemical weapons.

The action ended after slogans were chanted against the Turkish state and the western states that remained silent against these brutal practices and in favour of the guerrilla resistance.
