Kurdish language in daily life is a reality

Market keepers in Cizre, Þýrnak wrote the name tags of fruits and vegetables in the markets in Kurdish and placed them on tables.

Following the decision of Democratic Society Congress and BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) to use Kurdish in all Lebensraum, the nametags of vegetables and fruit have been written and displayed in Kurdish, within the framework of the campaign launched by TZP-KÜRDÝ.

Before the display of Kurdish nametags on the market,  a group including BDP Cizre District Chairman Esat Malkuç, cizre Deputy Mayor Haným Onur, TZP-KURDÝ, MKM, CÜ-DER, DÝSK and Cizre Women's Council members made a press statement in front of KÜRDÝ-DER Cizre Branch.

Reading the joint press statement here, KÜRDÝ-DER Cizre Branch Representative Bahadin Robar remarked that their aim for now is to make Kurdish shopping language in the whole Lebensraum of Kurdish people.

Underlining that neither the General Staff nor any institution has the right to discuss the humanitarian rights or thematize them in politics, Robar said the followings; “A human already has some rights for being a human. These rights cannot be prevented or granted by others. But these rights need to be respected. We advise our people, civil society organizations and all sensitive sides to use their mother tongue in their daily lives and teach it to their children”. Robar recorded that a nation could be a nation only when its language and culture live.

Robar said that the nametags of vegetables and fruits in greengrocers will appear in Kurdish, adding; “We already use Kurdish actively in the region. We are doing this to hold the subject on the agenda and to Show how the Kurdish language is important to us”.

Robar marked that they are working to contribute to the development of the Kurdish language, adding; “Without waiting for any permission or idea to use Kurdish in all Lebensraum in daily life, we will use our right that we already have for being Kurdish and give all necessary efforts to use Kurdish in daily life”.

Following the press statement, all green grocers’ in Cizre were distributed Kurdish nametags of vegetables and fruits.
