Diyabakýr 6th High Criminal Court adjourned once again after the defendants insisted making their defense speeches in Kurdish.
In todays session deputy president of Democratic Society Party (DTP) Kamuran Yuksek said "I want to read my defense in Kurdish". The judges rejected his appeal. Yuksek repeated the same sentence in Kurdish. The chief judge turned off his microphone.
Lawyer Cihan Aydin said the court should let the defendant speak in Kurdish to continue the investigation process. He said the court should decide if it wants to continue the process of break off the trial until a decision is made by a higher court.
The lawyers demanded the court to release Kurdish politicians but the judges refused the appeal.
Judges asked the defendants if any of them wants to testify in Turkish. But none of them stood up.
