KONGRA-GEL calls for strong participation in Paris rally

In a statement marking the ninth anniversary of the triple murder of Kurdish women activists in Paris, the KONGRA-GEL Co-Presidency Council called for strong participation in the mass rally to take place in Paris on Saturday.

“We commemorate with deep respect and love our three revolutionary Kurdish female comrades, Sakine Cansız (Sara), Fidan Doğan (Rojbin) and Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahi), who were murdered 9 years ago on January 9, 2013 in Paris. On this occasion, we once again strongly condemn the fascist Turkish state and promise that we will definitely bring them to account,” KONGRA-GEL said in a written statement on Wednesday.

“For the last 9 years, a great struggle has been carried out by our people, friends and women's organizations in various parts of the world under the guidance of the Kurdish Women's Movement to bring the murderers to account and to secure justice in the case.

Rather than setting our people, especially the families, and the concerned community at ease, the French authorities attempted to close the case.

However, everyone knows who the murderers are, and their addresses are known. Apart from the documents and information in the case file, İsmail Hakkı Pekin, a former head of the Turkish General Staff Intelligence Department, confessed in a Turkish TV Show that the triple murder of Kurdish activists in Paris was carried out by the Turkish intelligence service MIT and it would be right to do it to others if necessary.

It is the responsibility of France to shed light on the murder of the three Kurdish women in Paris, to reveal the truth and to ensure justice.

France has been primarily responsible for the division and fragmentation of the lands and people of Kurdistan since the First World War, which led to the submission of our people to the colonial states. France has also supported the genocidal policies and denial pursued by the Turkish state against the Kurdish people for a century.

Thanks to the NATO alliance, of which France is a member, and the support and tolerance of the relevant European countries, the Turkish state openly continues Kurdish massacres without fear of sanctions. That’s why the French authorities want to close the case of three revolutionary Kurdish women murdered in Paris.

The fascist Turkish state regime has been on the verge of collapse triggered by a serious economic crisis due to its genocidal policies against the Kurdish people. Nothing can stop the ultimate demise of the AKP-MHP fascism. The Kurdish people, who have been discarded because of interstate interests, have now inspired the peoples of the region for a free democratic life.

At a time when the genocidal Turkish state policies towards the Kurdish people are collapsing, it is morally and conscientiously obligatory for countries responsible for the emergence of the Kurdish question, especially France, to change their policies.

We appeal to the French government: The case of the three revolutionary Kurdish women murdered in Paris is a very important opportunity to change your policies concerning the Kurdish people. Securing justice and revealing the truth will ease the conscience of our peoples in France, and the wider public.

Our people and friends, especially the Kurdish Women's Movement will never give up the struggle for justice for the three revolutionary women who were murdered in Paris, until justice is served.

The only way to offer a remedy to our people like Sara, Rojbin and Ronahi who were killed in all previous massacres and genocides is to overthrow the fascist Turkish regime. We are going through a phase when the Turkish fascism is on the verge of collapse.

The fascist regime has been defeated against Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, the guerrilla and the struggle of our people and is living the last moment of its life. The increasing crackdown, torture, persecution and massacres in Turkey’s prisons represent the fear of collapse of fascism. However, cowards die many times before their deaths. Fascism will collapse and give a full account of what it has done.

Therefore, a strong engagement of our people is very crucial. Everyone should be in Paris on Saturday, January 8, under the leadership of TJK-E to protest the fascist AKP-MHP government that murdered Sara, Rojbîn and Ronahi, and to demand the French government to bring justice.

Let's all take to Paris on Saturday, January 8, to be the voice of our martyrs and our people.”
