KON-MED calls for protests against the racist attack in Belgium

Following the racist attack against Kurds in Belgium, KON-MED called on the Kurdish people to protest, saying, "All our assemblies should make their plans as soon as possible and take to the streets against these attacks."

RACIST ATTACK AGAINST KURDS IN BELGIUM

The Federation of Kurdistan Societies in Germany (KON-MED) released a written statement about yesterday’s organised attack against Kurds in the town of Heusden-Zolder in Belgium. The attackers tried to set a Kurdish house on fire, destroyed and looted vehicles and set out to lynch Kurds. Six Kurds were seriously injured in the attacks.

Reacting against the approach of European states in the face of the attack, KON-MED said, "The attitude of European states towards these attacks is shameful. Previously, 6 of our friends were martyred in two attacks in Paris, the capital of France. Those who left bullets at our doorsteps in France and in Bremen, those who prepared our death lists in Vienna and those who wanted to burn down our house in Belgium are the same people. We know well the fascist Turkish state that aims at death and massacre for the Kurdish people all over the world."

"There is a very serious massacre attempt and lack of precaution. We demand from the Belgian state that this incident be clarified as soon as possible and that those responsible be held accountable before the law", KON-MED emphasised.

The statement pointed out that: "It is necessary to fight very seriously against the Turkish state and these attacks carried out by its dirty relations here. For this reason, we call on our people to take action against these attacks. All our assemblies should make their plans as soon as possible and take to the streets against these attacks. Our people should know that we will hold those responsible for these attacks to account before the law, and we will follow up on this."
