KNK pays tribute to lawyer Saraceni

The Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) expressed its condolences for the death of Luigi Saraceni.
Saraceni was a magistrate, founder of Magistratura Democratica, member of parliament and a friend of the Kurdish people and lawyer of Abdullah Öcalan.
Saraceni, a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the University of Rome, served as president of the V Division of the Rome Court. He was elected to the House of Representatives on behalf of the Left Democrats (DS) in 1994 and served in this position from 1996 until 2001.
After his parliamentary experience with the DS and the Greens, he took up the profession of lawyer and defended his daughter Federica Saraceni, who was arrested in the new investigation in 2003 and convicted in the Massimo D'Antona murder case.
He has been the lawyer of Kurdish People's Leader Öcalan since 1998. He also followed the European and Imrali processes.
The Calabrian lawyer died in Rome at the age of 86.
A secular farewell ceremony will be held at the Verano cemetery in Rome on Tuesday.
