Kipping calls for “sanctions against Erdogan”

Die Linke Co-chair Katja Kipping called on the Federal German Government led by Chancellor Angela Merkel to “stop the military cooperation with the Erdogan regime and take action for the political prisoners in Turkey”.

Die Linke Co-chair Katja Kipping issued a call on her social media accounts and commented on Erdogan’s reaction to the elections after Turkish President and AKP Leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan refused to recognize the outcome of the March 31 elections.

Kipping said Erdogan has openly called for new elections to take the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and continued: “The Despot simply does not acknowledge his defeat.” Die Linke Leader Kipping called on the Federal Government led by Chancellor Merkel to stop military aid and cooperation and said:

“The Federal Government should take action for the political prisoners in Turkey and for a new peace process.”
