KCDK-E says it will resume its activities

KCDK-E said it will resume its activities which were halted during the coronavirus pandemic.

The European Kurdish Democratic Society Congress (KCDK-E) co-presidency Council released a statement announcing that it will resume its activities which were halted during the coronavirus pandemic.

Noting that the genocidal and brutal attacks carried out by the Turkish state continue, the KCDK-E said; "Let's not be locked up in houses, let's speed up street actions."

The KCDK-E emphasized that the Turkish state continued its invasion attacks and repression of prisoners during the pandemic period.

The statement said: "We have closed all our institutions to protect the health of our people and employees. We continued our work by informing our people and carrying out a large part of our activities in a digital environment. Despite all the shortcomings, we tried to fulfill our responsibilities in this process. We have informed people with publications and tried to protect their unity and organization during the pandemic.”

Remarking that the Turkish state wants to turn the pandemic into an opportunity, the statement continued: "The colonialist Turkish state has continued its attacks and genocidal policies without interruption. It has attacked South Kurdistan, in Zînî Wertê, Qandil and Maxmur camp.”

The statement also referred to the brutal attacks on martyrs’ remains and funerals.

Taking into consideration the new phase opened in many countries, the KCDK-E decided to carry out some activities involving narrow groups as of 15 May.

“The fact that we face genocide as a people - said the statement - requires us to raise the struggle resolutely. Since the pandemic is not completely finished, we need to continue our activities in our associations and institutions while maintaining the social distancing measures.”

According to the new regulations, the co-chairs should hold meetings separately with small groups and commissions.

The statement added: “The problems of humanity cannot be solved by being trapped in homes, and the genocidal attacks on Kurdistan are not stopping. We must take action immediately and hold small public meetings.

As we mentioned before, the actions should be carried out every Wednesday and Saturday according to the permissions given.”
