According to the media in East Kurdistan, a Kurdish youth named Mizefer Darayi was detained in Diwandere, and a 17-year-old named Mardîn Dêhqanî was detained in Meriwan.
The number of those detained in raids carried out in the region without any justification since Sunday has risen to 6.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Organization announced in a statement on Sunday that Iranian forces detained four Kurdish citizens: Mihemed Emîn in Diwandere, Newîd Şerîfî from the village of Kanî Spî, Ferhad Qemerî from the village of Kutek, and Fuad Muradî from the village of Kêlekew in Diwandere.
These arrests come just before the anniversary of the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi rebellion. An unprecedented uprising began after the detention and murder of a young Kurdish woman, Jina Amini, by morality police in October 2022. Iranian forces killed hundreds of people and arrested thousands during the uprising. Many were executed. Human rights groups say the Iranian government uses the death penalty to suppress public outcry.
