Internationalists protest for Shengal in Berlin

Demonstrations in solidarity with Shengal against the agreement of the Hewler and Iraqi governments continue.

Internationalists organised a protest in German capital Berlin against the agreement concluded between the autonomous Kurdistan region and Iraqi governments on October 9 seeking to dissolve the autonomous administration and defense structures built in Shengal after the ISIS invasion in 2014.

The protest was also joined by activists from the Kurdish Revolutionary Youth Movement (TCŞ).

Demonstrators commended the autonomous system built in Shengal by the Yazidi people themselves. The leaflets they handed out to people in trains highlighted “democracy, antifascism, ecology and women’s freedom” as the basis of this new system.

The internationalist and Kurdish activists vowed to continue reclaiming Shengal against the plans made against it.
