Hunger strike resistance in Strasbourg on day 77

On Sunday there were many visits from Germany, Switzerland and many cities of France to Strasbourg where 14 Kurdish activists have been on hunger strike for 77 days.

While Kurds in Europe are claiming the indefinite hunger strike resistance more every day, activists in Strasbourg call for more solidarity saying they are taking strength from people.

Support for the hunger strike resistance launched to demand the end of isolation against Abdullah Öcalan is growing, with people visiting the hunger strikers from all over Europe.

Today, many journalists from Belgium came to Strasbourg and met with the activists.

Media News, Sterk TV and Denge Radyoya Welat workers met with journalist Gülistan Ike who is on hunger strike for 77 days.

Visitors from three countries

On Sunday there were many visits from Germany, Switzerland and many cities of France.

Kurds from Kiel, Darmstadt, Bruchsal, Lahr, Mannheim, Heilbronn, Basel, Switzerland, Paris, Drancy, Mulhouse and Besançon visited the 14 Kurdish activists on hunger strike in Strasbourg.

Naile Kurt, member of the People's Council in Mannheim-Ludwigshafen, Germany, spoke to the hunger strikers and underlined that they are breaking the silence with their action. Kurt said that the Kurdish people knew their enemies well and that they would not give up the struggle to reclaim their identity, rights and law.

An activist from Heilbronn underlined that no one with conscience can remain indifferent to the hunger strikes.

Kerim Xelil, from Mannheim, pointed out that the resistance led by Leyla Güven has spread all over the world.

Erdoğan, said Xelil, wants the Kurdish Freedom Movement to be left with no morale, but he cannot reach its goal and indeed, said Xelil, hunger strikers are guiding the people.
