Human and Freedom Party (PIA) Co-Chair Mehmet Kamaç, deputy chairs Menuce Gülmel, Ahmet Kaya and party founder Tahirxan Bozdemir visited the Headquarters of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP). The PIA delegation met with HDP Co-Chair Mithat Sancar and deputy co-chairs Tuncer Bakırhan and Alican Önlü. Petition for establishment of the PIA has not been accepted for nearly two years now.

Sancar stated that the thwarting of PIA’s establishment is against the Constitution and the Law on Political Parties and that the authorities committed a crime. Sancar said, “If your documents are submitted, this party has been established. Everything that is done now is against the Constitution, the Law on Political Parties, those who do this are committing a crime. 32 parties have been established since 2018 and 27 parties were just established in 2020, causing no problem. "It is completely arbitrary to prevent the establishment of the PIA".

Sancar expressed that they are ready to offer any kind of political and legal support.

'WE WILL TAKE A TOUGH STANCE'

PIA Chairman Mehmet Kamaç thanked HDP and said: “Today there is a fact in politics over Kurdistan; There are parties emerging from the AKP, their main goal is to gather the religious conservative mass in Kurdistan around them and reduce the Kurdish issue to an ideological issue. PIA is a party that has emerged to fill this gap in Kurdistan on this issue".

Kamaç said that the Kurdish issue is Turkey's biggest problem and they added it to their party program. "As a non-submissive tradition, we are trying to set an example by standing upright in a country where everyone is afraid," Kamaç added.
