Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Women's Assembly Spokesperson and MP for Siirt, Besime Konca was detained at Batman Airport earlier today. She was later taken to court which ruled for her imprisonment on alleged charges of “membership to a terrorist organization” and “spreading propaganda for a terrorist organization”. The first hearing in the case against Konca will be held on May 31.

Konca had been jailed on December 13, 2016 and released on May 3, 2017 after a hearing at Batman 2nd Heavy Penal Court. Following her release, Batman 3rd Heavy Penal Court had issued an arrest warrant for her after approving an appeal against her release.
