HDP Menemen Youth Assembly member Murat Kaya was shot in the back of his neck in the Youth Culture Center located in the Asarlık Neighborhood of İzmir’s Menemen district. Kaya’s body was found and taken to Menemen State Hospital by other members of the Culture Center, and Kaya is believed to have been shot by person/s who entered the Culture Center when Kaya was alone here.

Kaya is in a critical state, and has been sent to Tepecik Training Research Hospital after his initial treatment in the state hospital.

Civilians from the area state that they have not seen anyone suspicious, and Kaya might have been shot by the attacker/s when he was alone in the Culture Center.

Police continue their investigation in the Culture Center where Kaya was shot.
