HDP member denounces violence while in police custody

HDP Party Council member Veli Saçılık reported that he was subjected to violence by the police during a protest in Ankara to condemn the murder of HDP employee Deniz Poyraz.

HDP Party Council member Veli Saçılık, who was detained during the protest in Ankara Güvenpark on Saturday and later released, announced that he was subjected to police violence.

In a post on his Twitter account, Saçılık stated that a policeman, who sat on his neck for 10 minutes, cursed and said: “The wounds are not important. I'm not going to let go of this violent office who cursed my ten-year-old daughter. I will certainly put the police chief who gave this order to trial, and I will not give up until I do. There were dozens of police officers next to the plainclothes police who sat on my neck for ten minutes, yesterday, cursing. Not one of them intervened. They are sure about their getting away with it.”
