HDP election work underway

HDP meeting from Van to Mersin

HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan has traveled from Van to Hakkari where she met with the people as part of the electoral campaign the party is carrying out.

After meeting with the Nihat Akdoğan, HDP MP for the constituency and with the party's central management board (MYK) and party members, the convoy moved to the city center. Hundreds of people were waiting on Bulvar Street in the city cente and Buldan together with the other HDP people had a joyful walk until the HDP Provincial Building.

After the walk, the party met people. HDP Provincial Co-President Nazmi Coskun saluted the people after the respect for the ones who lost their lives in the struggle for democracy. Then, Nihat Akdoğan stated that the people gave a great moral to them and said: "As you know, most of our municipalities were sized and our MPs were arrested".

Speaking after Coskun, Co-Chair Pervin Buldan saluted the HDP deputies from the areas who are still in jail, Abdullah Zeydan and Selma Irmak.

Buldan said Hakkari "never gave up its principles. It is a city that has protested violence was heavy. The AKP, which has been in power for 16 years, has brought nothing but persecution to Hakkari. AKP in Hakkari means armored vehicle,  blood, oppression, prohibition".

Buldan said the 24 June early election will give people the opportunity to change all this. "We have seen curfews and prohibition to go on our streets. We witnessed our homes being burned down. The approach of the authorities here to the Kurdish people was once again bitter, tearful. Today we have families here who have not yet been able to bury their beloved, as they couldn't retrieve their bodies". Buldan ended her speech by vowing that in "Hakkari the people will win 3-0 on 24 June".

Convoy moved to Yüksekova

The HDP convoy left Hakkari for Yüksekova. At the meeting organized in the city, Bitlis HDP deputy, Mizgin Irgat said that on "May Day we'll show how the 24 June will be". Irgat pointed out that the "AKP wanted an early election in order to save its precarious alliance with the MHP. The economy is going bad, the foreign politicy is going bad, so the government tried to save itself by calling an election". The HDP "will use this election as an opportunity to finally get rid of this fascist alliance", said the MP.

In Şırnak, Mizgin Irgat said: “The people will send a strong answer to the AKP repression and military operation. The biggest answer will be coming from Istanbul, Kurdistan and everywhere else in Turkey".
