The HDP Committee led by Co-chair Pervin Buldan continues to meet with high ranking executives from various institutions and organs within the Council of Europe.

The committee met with people from Kurdistan and Turkey who live in and around Strasbourg in a people’s meeting organized in the Democratic Society Center. Buldan and Ozsoy spoke in the meeting where current developments and plans for the local elections were discussed.

The HDP committee includes Parliamentary Deputy Speaker Prof. Mithat Sancar, Deputy Chair for Foreign Relations and PACE Member Hisyar Ozsoy, PACE Member and Batman MP Feleknas Uca and HDP CoE Representative Faik Yagizay. Council of Europe Cabinet Committee Secretary General, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe United Left, Socialist and Liberal group chairs, Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe President Gudrun Mosler-Törnström are among the European officials in the meetings.

CONFERENCE ON THE ISOLATION

Meetings of higher ranks are expected to start this afternoon. The HDP committee will also attend a conference organized by the PACE United European Left group on the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan between 13:00 and 14:00 today.
