Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chairs Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar met with Rik Daems, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the European Commission (PACE).

Buldan and Sancar were accompanied by HDP Deputy co-chair, Feleknas Uca, and Foreign Relations Committee co-spokesperson Hişyar Özsoy.

At the meeting several issues were discussed, including the judicial process regarding the closure of the HDP, the political and legal consequences caused by the failure to comply with the decisions of the ECHR, especially the ruling on former HDP co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş, the consequences of the dissolution of the Istanbul Convention by the government and the steps that can be taken in this regard.

Buldan and Sancar said that fundamental principles such as democracy, human rights and the rule of law should not be used in the Council of Europe as bargaining chips.
