Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) provincial co-chair Cemal Akar and HDP municipal council member Ceren Barış were detained during house raids carried out in Ağrı province this morning.

While Barış was first taken to Ağrı Provincial Security Directorate and released after his statement, co-mayor Akar is still in custody.

It is reported that Barış, who was later released, was asked about the slogans chanted at the party building yesterday to protest the 22 years and 3 months prison sentence given to Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair Leyla Güven on Monday.
