HDP administrator jailed in Urfa

The Turkish regime’s political genocide against the Kurdish people and their elected representatives continues unabated.

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Party Assembly (PM) member Bekir Karageçili, Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Viranşehir district branch co-chair Hıdır Oktay, HDP district administrator Ihsak Gündüz and Vedat Güler were taken into custody during the house raids carried out by the police in Urfa province on July 8. The detainees who are accused of “membership to an illegal organization” have been referred to court today.

After giving their statements to the prosecutor’s office, Bekir Karageçili, Hıdır Oktay and Vedat Güler were released on condition of judicial control, while HDP district administrator Ihsak Gündüz was remanded in custody on the mentioned charge.
