The Peoples' United Revolutionary Movement (HBDH) Şiyar Efrin Militia stated that they set fire to a furniture factory, which was identified as belonging to an AKP district executive, in Kerem Street in Dudullu neighbourhood in Ümraniye district of İstanbul at around 3.00 a.m on 19 September.
Saying that ‘the factory was completely burnt down as a result of the action’, Şiyar Efrin (Lokman İsmail) Militia dedicated this action to ‘comrades Hebûn and Botan, who were martyred in Amed on 15 September’ and stated that ‘it was carried out in retaliation for military operations’.
The statement further said that: ‘The Kurdish people, with their resistance and struggle under Turkish state fascism for a century in the Middle East geography, where wars and destruction are not lacking, has been a source of inspiration to all oppressed and exploited peoples and classes with its 40-year struggle for freedom in the person of the PKK. It is a duty for every democrat and revolutionary to embrace and enlarge the freedom guerrilla who fight sacrificially against the Turkish state, which supports the war between peoples and aims at genocide in Kurdistan.
As the fighters of the united struggle, until the occupation and attacks stop in Kurdistan, until the isolation in prisons is broken, our militia actions in the metropolises of Turkey will continue to disturb your sleep!"
