Hashd al-Shaabi gains control over six villages of Kairawan

Hashd al-Shaabi (People's Mobilization Units) announced that they have captured six villages of Kairawan from ISIS and are moving towards the airport in Shengal plain now.

The Shiite militia Hashd al-Shaabi announced gaining control over six villages of Shengal's Kairawan town in their ongoing offensive against ISIS.

In its written statement, the Shiite militia said they have secured the villages of Eyn Tethî, Exmîsye, Xelef el Dêrîs, Edhîle, Xezal and Xems Telul, stating that their forces are now moving on the airport south of Shengal.

Hashd al-Shaabi forces started an operation to capture the Kairawan town and its villages from ISIS 7 days ago. Their operation is conducted as part of the campaign to liberate Mosul.
