Former Berlin State Parliament MP Hakan Taş drew attention to the attacks carried out by the Turkish army against Rojava not only after the fall of the Assad regime but also before, and said that civilians in the region were always targeted and hundreds of innocent people lost their lives.
Taş added that the murder of journalists Nazım Daştan and Cihan Bilgin was a crime. He condemned it, and said: “The killing of innocent journalists on duty should not be accepted by any country. I call on European public opinion to raise their voices and protest.”
Taş criticized the fact that despite the visits of German Federal officials to Turkey and other relevant countries following the new situation in Syria, the recent attacks against the Kurds and new developments were not brought to the agenda.
Taş underlined that the US had put a $10 million bounty on the leader of the HTS organization, which was on its terror list, but this was lifted after recent developments in Syria. He said: “America and other European countries have begun to take steps to reopen the paths of cooperation with HTS. Countries have almost become competitive with each other on this issue.”
Taş called for the protection of the rights of the Kurdish people in Syria and for their struggle to be supported, and said that the attacks carried out by the Turkish state were also seriously harming civilians and asked everyone to raise their voices to stop this.
