Leyla Guven’s health has deteriorated to the point that she was unable to attend the visit by her daughter.
Imprisoned DTK Co-chair and HDP MP Leyla Guven is on day 75 of her hunger strike against the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Ocalan.
Guven’s health has been deteriorating and she was unable to attend the visit by her daughter Sabiha Temizkan this morning.
Sabiha Temizkan issued the following statement on her social media:
“My mother was unable to come to our visit today for the first time. They made her sign a paper that says she didn't attend the visit on her own accord. This is my mother! Have some dignity! She must have not been able to. Today she has been hungry for 75 days. #LeylaGüveniYaşatalım (“Keep Leyla Guven alive”) My mother needs to be in the Parliament, not prison.”
