“Freedom for Öcalan” demo in Bordeaux

Revolutionary Youth Movement (TCŞ) activists staged a demonstration to voice their demand for Öcalan's freedom.

Activists from the Kurdish youth movement TCŞ organised a demonstration in the French city of Bordeaux to demand freedom for Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The demonstration at the Grand Théâtre Square began with a statement which called on everyone to oppose the isolation of the Kurdish leader in the scope of the campaign "Bi hev re serhildan" [Rise up together].

The crowd then marched through the Sainte Catherine Street with huge banners calling for increased resistance and solidarity with Rojava.

Chanting slogans that demanded freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, the demonstrators also saluted the guerrilla resistance against the occupant Turkish army in Heftanin region of Southern Kurdistan, Northern Iraq.

The activists also announced that they would be joining the Long March to be staged in Germany in September.
