The footage by YPG Press Office shows SDF fighters taking down ISIS banner and raising SDF flag in the area. The fighters state that they are as close as 4-5 km. to the Euphrates river at the moment, and have achieved dominance in the area.
Al-Omar, the largest oil field in Syria, is located northeast of Deir ez-Zor. The area was liberated by Syrian Democratic Forces from ISIS on October 22.
SDF forces are making further advances in the area as part of the Operation Cizire Storm launched in the north and east of Deir ez-Zor on September 9.
