SDF Press Spokesperson Ferhad Shami announced that the MIT team that took part in the attacks on the Tishrin Dam and Qereqozax Bridge is now in the custody of the SDF forces.
Ferhad Shami, Spokesperson of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Press Center, spoke to Channel 8 about the attacks by the occupying Turkish state and its allied mercenaries of the so-called Syrian National Army (SNA).
Shami stated that a team of the Turkish intelligence agency MIT, which had been deployed to North-East Syria before the launch of the attacks on Tishrin Dam and Qereqozax Bridge, is now in the custody of the SDF.
The Tishrin Dam and Qereqozax Bridge, two strategically important crossings on the Euphrates, which have been fiercely contested for months, are of the utmost importance for the further course of the clashes between the SDF and Turkish-backed mercenaries. Should they fall, there is a threat of an invasion of the symbolic city of Kobanê.
Ferhad Shami continued: “Many people who are actively operating in Damascus and Aleppo at the moment are actually members of MIT. We have documents and videos. In particular, an MIT team took part in the attacks on the Tishrin Dam and the Qereqozax Bridge. This team is now in the hands of our forces. We will share their images and documents with the public in the coming days. The Turkish state is now directly involved in all institutions in Syria. Not only in the military and intelligence fields, but also through financial companies, telecommunications and internet infrastructure. It is increasing its influence in major cities such as Aleppo, Homs and Hama. Turkey wants to control Syria politically, militarily and culturally.”
