FEDA condemns attack on Alevi graves in Ludwigsburg

The Democratic Alevi Federation (FEDA) said: “Those who come to spread fear should know that we won’t allow anyone to insult our values.”

Alevi graves were attacked in Ludwigsburg, Germany.

Those responsible for breaking the candle holders and the symbols on the graves, also verbally attacked three women visiting the Ost Cemetery on Thursday, insulting the Alevi values.

The angel motif on the grave of a child who died at the age of 5 was broken. It was learned that Alevis have faced similar attacks before.

The Democratic Alevi Federation (FEDA) issued a written statement regarding the attack.

The statement underlined how strong is a mentality which continues to attack the dead and their graves as well as the people visiting them.

The statement said: "The generation of persecution, which does not recognize us the right to live in the lands to which we belong, is attacking our cemeteries in an attempt to spread fear." The statement added: “Those who come to spread fear should know that we won’t allow anyone to insult our values.”
