Farmers in Raqqa get disel support for irrigation

The second part of the diesel support given to farmers for irrigation in Raqqa has started to be distributed.

The Agriculture and Irrigation Board and the Democratic Autonomous Administration Fuel Directorate support farmers to strengthen the agricultural sector. In this context, diesel fuel started to be supplied to farmers at 1,050 Syrian liras per liter.

The Agriculture and Irrigation Board and the Democratic Autonomous Administration Fuel Directorate distributed 6 million 485 thousand liters of diesel fuel for the first part of the irrigation support to farmers. With the completion of the first part, the authorities started working on the second part and distributed 2 million 835 thousand liters of diesel fuel to farmers who own wells and 3 million 650 thousand liters of diesel fuel to cooperatives.

There are 151 cooperatives and 1,030 wells licensed by the Directorate of Agriculture in Raqqa.

Yasîn El Xelef, member of the Agriculture and Irrigation Board of Directors, said that after the first part of the diesel was finished, they started the distribution of the second part.

The Agriculture and Irrigation Board of Directors provides 20 liters of diesel fuel per acre to lands irrigated by wells and 12 liters of diesel fuel to cooperatives.
