Bodies of internationalist fighters David Taylor (Zafer Qereçox), Nicolas Wardin (Rodi), Robert Growit (Demhat Xoldeman) and Luck Reuter (Soro Zınar) have been sent to Southern Kurdistan through the Semelka border crossing to be transported back to their countries.

Hundreds from the cities of Dêrik, Girkê Legê, and the villages Koçeratan and Baravê headed to the hospital of Dêrik to bid farewell to the internationalist fighters who fell fighting ISIS in the Raqqa city.

The coffins of four internationalist fighters were shouldered by the citizens and were transported afterwards with a massive convoy of hundreds of cars to the Sêmalka border crossing into South Kurdistan.

On reaching the Sêmalka bridge, a military ceremony was held by the fighters of the People's Defense Units (YPG) and Women's Defense Units (YPJ).

Speaking afterwards, internationalist commander Cesûr Herekol reminded of all the comrades who sacrificed their lives for the peoples' freedom and stressed that they are immeasurably proud of their martyrs Soro, Demhat, Rodî and Zafer. He said: "We stand by the oppressed peoples against the invaders".

Herekol continued: "We, as the internationalist youth, have betaken ourselves to Rojava in order to fight against terrorism and we will continue to march on the path of our martyred comrades." At the end of his speech Herekol saluted the resistance of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The ceremony continued with a speech delivered by the Co-chair of the Martyr's Families Council of the Cizir Canton Fatma Tahir, who said: "We send our condolences to the families of our martyrs. All four fighters are martyrs of humanity, who have joined the Rojava Revolution to defend human rights and the oppressed peoples and have sacrificed their lives on this path."

After the ceremony came to an end, the bodies of the four internationalist martyrs were taken to Southern Kurdistan under the loud chant of “Şehîd Namirin” [Martyrs are immortal].
