Families of prisoners in Imrali refused visit once again

The application filed by families of Kurdish People's Leader and the other three prisoners held in İmralı were rejected again.

The application filed by lawyer Mazlum Dinç to the Bursa Public Prosecutor's Office requiring a visit for Mehmet Öcalan to his brother, Abdullah Öcalan has been refused. 

Likewise application for visits presented by the lawyers of Polat Yıldırım, brother of Hamili Yıldırım, Ali Konar brother of Ömer Hayri Konar, and Sabiha Aslan sister of Veysel Aktaş, who are also jailed in Imrali were also denied. 

The prosecution rejected the applications on the grounds of the restrictions imposed on convicts by  “Law no. 5275 on the Execution of Criminal and Security Measures”.

Öcalan and his brother Mehmet, had been able to meet on 12 January 2019 for a short visit, the first since 11 September 2011.
